A couple of weeks ago i finished up painting a commission job. Which was a US rifle company, painted up as 1st infantry division, in Normandy.
The job took me quite some time to finish, as i painted a lot of detail and a lot of paint layers. I think it's too much for this scale actually. But overall they are some of the best Americans I've ever done. Now the only problem is that I feel like i should repaint all my figures to this standard :-D
The core of the company includes:
- Company HQ
- 2 Rifle platoons
- 1 weapons platoon.
The models are the new plastic figures from Battlefront, quite liked them, very sharp and with clean lines. One of the only negative things to the new plastic models, is the figures limited poses. There's not very much variation, which I personally like. For example there is only two different stand of bazooka men.
I painted it up in standard US uniforms, with rank chevrons, and division patches on the left arm. I also tried some black lining to make the details pop even more. I really like the result.
The basing is done in summer theme. One of the platoons is on a field with some red flowers, to distinguish the platoons from each other.
